Judith Ann Rousey, 74, of Bloomington, IN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 20, 2025, at Majestic Care of Bloomington. Born on November 5, 1950, in Batesville, IN, she was the daughter of Ruth and Eugene Merida.
Judy was a dedicated Mother, Mamaw, and Great Mamaw to her two boys, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In addition to being the matriarch of her family, Judy also was a dedicated employee for Batesville Casket Company and Cook Inc. for many years. What she did for a living, however, did not define her, and her most important focus in life was to love her family. She loved to spend time with family, play bingo, and stay informed on the happenings of the day. She enjoyed the beach and ocean very much, so much so that she relocated for a brief time to Florida.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Charles & Suzanne Rousey of Bloomington; Michael and Cheryl Rousey of Bloomington; two grandsons and their wives, Zachary & Ashley and Matthew & Skye; two granddaughters, Hannah and Abagail; three great-grandsons, Samuel, Joshua, and Andrew; and one brother, Timothy Merida of Batesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Merida.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4 p.m.–7 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with a time of visitation starting at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Dailey officiating. Judy will be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Batesville, IN, following the service.
