Jerry Wayne Wengert, affectionately known to many as, “Bomber” and “Bones”, age 65 was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He passed away surrounded by love on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.
Bomber was a man full of spirit and joy. He loved the outdoors and could often be found fishing, hunting, or camping. A loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, he enjoyed cheering on his hometown teams. Music, dancing, and time with family and friends brought him the greatest happiness.
Raised in Sedamsville, where he spent most of his life, Bomber was deeply connected to his community and the people in it. His presence touched many, and his memory will live on in the countless hearts he influenced.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Karista Wengert; his siblings, Phyllis (Randy) Schaffer, Kenneth (Tammy) Wengert, and Joyce (Kevin) Spicer; his sister-in-law, Lisa Weber; his bonus brother, Troy Simpkins Sr.; and his many nieces, nephews, and all those who lovingly called him brother or uncle.
Bomber was preceded in death by his parents, Sharlette Weber and James Weber Sr.; and his brothers, Ralph Wengert, Robert “Skip” Wengert, and James “Jim” Weber Jr.
Bomber’s laughter, kindness, “his jokes” and love for life will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Jim & Jack’s on the River, 3456 River Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45204.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Cards are available online or at the funeral home.
