Houchin Says Over $5 Million Returned to Constituents Through Casework

Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN-09).

(Washington, D.C.) – Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN-09) says her office has successfully returned more than $5 million to constituents through direct casework assistance since she took office in January 2023.

These funds represent money owed to residents throughout Indiana’s Ninth District from federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Social Security Administration, IRS, and others.

“Helping constituents navigate the federal bureaucracy is one of the most important responsibilities of our office,” said Congresswoman Houchin. “Whether it is a veteran waiting on benefits, a family needing assistance with Social Security, or helping a taxpayer resolve issues with the IRS, our team is here to cut through the red tape and get results. Every dollar returned is a reminder that government should work for the people, not the other way around.”

Congresswoman Houchin’s constituent services include assistance with:

  • Veterans’ benefits and military service records
  • Social Security and Medicare claims
  • IRS issues and tax return delays
  • Passports and international travel assistance
  • Small business and federal grant applications
