Oldenburg Academy volleyball got past East Central in five sets. Scores were 25-22, 25-19, 25-17, 25-18, 15-13. The Twisters won the first set before the Trojans took the next two. OA came back and won the fifth set. The Twisters improve to 6-2 on the year.

It was South Decatur over Southwestern (Shelby) in four sets: 25-14, 25-22, 25-15, 25-20. The Cougars won the first set before the Spartans took the second. South Decatur won the next two sets to claim the victory.

In 8th grade volleyball, it was North Decatur over Morristown 25-12, 25-14. The Chargers are now 4-3.

Oldenburg girls soccer went on the road and blanked Richmond 9-nil.

Batesville girls varsity soccer doubled up Columbus East 4-2. The Bulldogs won the JV match over the Olympians 3-nil.

Oldenburg boys tennis topped Edinburgh 3-2.

Both Batesville Middle School track teams finished second at the 11-team Jennings County Invitational. The Bulldog girls team finished with 66, while the BMS boys had 70. Batesville had two individual champs in the JV race in Miles Lawrence and Lila Wade.

The Reds open a three-game interleague series tonight against the Athletics in Sacramento. Brady Singer gets the start for Cincinnati. We’ll join the game in progress after high school football on 103.9 FM.

The Reds yesterday activated righthanded pitchers Graham Ashcraft (right forearm strain) and Chase Burns (grade 1 right flexor strain) from the 15-day Injured List and optioned pitchers Lyon Richardson and Yosver Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville.

The 22nd ranked Indiana Hoosiers face the Indiana State Sycamores in college football tonight. Both teams are 2-0 coming into the contest at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

The Indiana Fever has claimed the sixth seed in the WNBA Playoffs and will face the Atlanta Dream in the first round. Game 1 will be Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, with Game 2 Tuesday night in Indianapolis. If necessary, the deciding game in the best-of-three series would be played in Atlanta.
