(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) is proud to share the success of two after-hours community events that brought students, families, and hospital staff together in
support of local schools.
Thanks to the dedication of DCMH employees who volunteered their time, the hospital raised a total of $2,100 for four area schools.
All proceeds were presented directly to the schools whose students participated in the events, including Greensburg Community Schools, North Decatur Jr./Sr. High School, St. Mary’s School, and South Decatur Jr./Sr. High School.
These contributions will directly support student athletic programs and activities, ensuring every dollar supports student opportunities.
“It was inspiring to see students join in, knowing their participation would benefit their classmates and school programs while also completing an important step for athletic involvement,” said Rex McKinney, DCMH President and CEO. “This is just one of the many ways DCMH partners with our community to support health and wellness.”
In addition to raising funds, the events provided an accessible way for students to complete their sports physicals after school, ensuring they are prepared for the upcoming season.
Sports physicals were completed by DCMH providers Dr. Mary McCullough, Dr. Noel Mungcal, Dr. Jami Rayles, and Nurse Practitioner Jill Prickel, with support from more than 20 additional DCMH team members who volunteered their time to support student health with registration, coordination, and event support.
Together, their efforts ensured a smooth, positive experience for students and families.
DCMH extends its best wishes to all students as they begin a new school year and sports season, celebrating their achievements both on and off the field.
These events are just one example of how DCMH goes beyond healthcare to invest in the well-being and future of Decatur County youth.
