(Batesville, IN) – Work began as scheduled Wednesday on the northbound State Road 229 (Walnut Street) bike/pedestrian trail expansion in Batesville.
The northbound lanes between Hillcrest Avenue and State Road 46 are closed (pictured), and Batesville Police say when using alternate routes, please be aware of all foot traffic, your speed, and stop signs.
There are extra patrols along the alternate routes.
You may need to plan ahead and add a few extra minutes to your travel time.
The entire project will eventually encompass the area along State Road 229 between Franklin Street and Six Pine Ranch Road.
The work will be completed in phases, with the entire project expected to be finished by the summer of 2027.
