Trial Set for Man Accused of Severely Injuring Infant

(Brookville, IN) – Thirty-year-old Alexander Grimme is set to stand trial this fall in Franklin County on felony child abuse counts.

The Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Serious Injury, and Domestic Battery to a Person under 14 years old charges stem from his arrest earlier this year.

Both charges are Level 3 felonies.

FOX 19 is reporting Grimme is a former police officer in suburban Cincinnati and is charged in a separate case involving the same child in Hamilton County, Ohio.

Grimme allegedly beat the infant so bad that the child suffered permanent brain damage and will face developmental delays.

A jury trial has been scheduled for November 17 in Franklin Circuit Court 2, with Judge Clay Kellerman presiding.
