Batesville girls golf defeated Columbus East 151-214 at Hillcrest on Monday. Bulldog senior Ava South took medalist honors with an even par 35.

Franklin County won a tri-match at North Branch with Greensburg and North Decatur. It was the Wildcats 109, the Pirates 199 and the Chargers 208. Franklin County’s Emma Tolhurs was the medalist with a 44.

Batesville varsity and JV girls soccer blanked Seymour by identical scores of 2-nil. Hailee Weisenbach and Karsyn Watson scored goals for the BHS varsity squad. Kenzi Lacey found the back of the net twice to account for the Bulldog JV’s two scores.

Oldenburg Academy boys soccer shut out Triton Central 4-nil on the road. Adam Weber scored two goals for the Twisters while Ryan Hautman recorded two saves. OA’s defense allowed only five shots on goal.

South Decatur varsity volleyball bested Shawe Memorial in three sets. Scores were 25-12, 25-13, 25-11.

Batesville Middle School volleyball moves to 3-0 at both the 7th and 8th grade levels following a pair of wins over St. Nicholas. It was the BMS 7th graders winning in three sets, 25-10, 13-25, 15-5. The 8th grade netters won in two sets, 25-7, 25-9.

The Batesville girls middle school cross country team came in 3rd at 140 in the 28-team Greensburg Invitational. The BMS boys were 8th at 205.

The Los Angeles Dodgers blanked the Reds 7-0 at Chavez Ravine in a game heard late last night on WRBI. Hunter Greene allowed three earned runs on six hits with two walks and three strike outs over five innings. He also gave up two home runs. Greene took the loss and drops to 5-4 on the year. The Reds offense could only three hits. The middle game of the series is another late one tonight. Nick Martinez starts for Cincinnati. Coverage begins at 9:40 on 103.9 FM.

Trey Hendrickson’s hold-in is over. The All-Pro defensive end and the Cincinnati Bengals have reached agreement on a revised contract for this season. Hendrickson will receive a $14 million raise and earn $30 million for the 2025 campaign. The reigning NFL sack leader is still set to become an unrestricted free agent in the next offseason.

The Indiana Fever takes on the Seattle Storm in WNBA action tonight. Tipoff in downtown Indianapolis is at 7:00.
