(Friendship, IN) – One person was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash near Friendship on County Road 950 South on Friday night.
Investigators say it was around 8:20 p.m. when the driver of the eastbound vehicle left the road on the right shoulder, overcorrected and went off the left side of the road and struck a tree, which fell on the roadway.
The vehicle then veered off the right side of the road, down a steep embankment and through a bean field before coming to a stop at the edge of the road.
The unidentified driver was taken to the hospital by Ripley County EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Rescuers were aided by a Bobcat operator who removed the tree, which gave the ambulance and a wrecker access to the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.
