Elsewhere, Franklin County bested New Castle 27-13; it was Milan over Rushville 41-18; North Decatur crushed South Decatur 61-0; Shelbyville downed Greensburg 34-14, and it was South Dearborn 27, Jennings County 6.
The Arizona Diamondbacks walked off the Reds 6-5 in 11 innings last night in Phoenix in a game heard on WRBI. Lourdes Gurriel Jr.’s single to center field off Scott Barlow scored Corbin Carroll with the game-winning run. With the loss, the Reds fall a game-and-a-half behind the New York Mets for the third and final National League Wild Card spot. The middle game of the series is tonight. The Indianapolis Colts visit the Cincinnati Bengals in NFL preseason action this afternoon. Kickoff in downtown Cincinnati is at 1:00.
The Minnesota Lynx got by the Indiana Fever 95-90 last night in downtown Indianapolis. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 27 points, while Lexie Hull tossed in a career-high 23. The Lynx improves to 29-7. Indiana drops to 19-17. The two teams meet again tomorrow night in Minneapolis.
