Curtis Ray Cox, age 55, of Brookville, Indiana died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Born October 19, 1969 in Hamilton, Ohio he was the son of the late Charles Ray & Lena (Napier) Cox. On September 10, 1994 he was united in marriage to the former Sandy Waywood, and she survives.
Curtis worked in construction for many years before accepting a position at the Franklin County Health Department. He was currently serving as the Franklin County Building Inspector at the time of his passing.
In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the Indiana Bass Federation as well as the Gad-A-Bout.
Besides Sandy, his loving wife of 31 years, survivors include four children, Matthew (Rachel) Cox of Richmond, Indiana, Katie Cox of Brookville, Indiana, Leslie (Damon) Bauman of Brookville, Indiana and Maria Cox of Brookville, Indiana; a sister, Julie (James) Pierce of Dayton, Ohio, a brother Mark (Kelly) Cox of Liberty, Indiana; as well as several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Santhosh Yohannan will officiate the Funeral Service on Monday, August 25, 2025, 10:00 A.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.
