(Edinburgh, IN) – The Franklin County Democratic Party will join the Brad Meyer congressional campaign at a protest against plans by ICE to use Camp Atterbury as an immigrant detention center on Sunday, August 24 from 2-4 p.m.

The protest will be held outside the facility near Edinburgh.

Party officials and Meyer’s congressional campaign call the use of a U.S. Army installation as a detention camp a misuse of taxpayer money and Defense Department funding, among other issues.

“Rounding up black and brown skinned people and throwing them into illegal, filthy, and inhumane conditions is wrong,” reads a statement from Franklin County Democrats.
