The Reds topped the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 last night in the rain in downtown Cincinnati in a game heard on WRBI. Brady Singer pitched six scoreless innings with three hits, no walks and six strikeouts. Singer retired the first 12 hitters he faced. He improves to 10-9. Offensively, Miguel Andujar homered; Jose Trevino was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Spencer Steer drove in three. The Reds have a chance to win the series over the NL East-leading Phillies this evening when Hunter Greene comes off the injured list to make the start. He’s been out for more than two months with a right groin strain. Greene is 4-3 with a 2.72 earned run average. The Phillies counter with lefthander Cristopher Sanchez, who is 11-3 with a 2.36 ERA. The Dallas Wings slipped past the Indiana Fever 81-80 in WNBA action last night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 24 points. The Fever drops to 18-15 on the year. They’ll be back in action Friday at home against the Washington Mystics.

The Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers began holding joint practices at Grand Park in Westfield on Tuesday. The two teams meet in preseason action on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. It will be the Colts’ only home game of the preseason. Daniel Jones is expected to start at quarterback, but you will likely see Anthony Richardson get a lot more reps. Richardson injured his finger in the first preseason game at Baltimore and had to sit out after just nine snaps.
