Food Pantry Receives RCCF Grant

(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Food Pantry has been awarded a $1,500 grant from the Ripley County Community Foundation to support ongoing operational expenses.

“This grant is a blessing at a time when we continue to see a steady rise in both the number of clients we serve each month and the cost of groceries,” said Director Kendra Basler.

So far in 2025, the pantry has served an average of 205 families per month – which equates to around 830 people.

Basler says a growing number of first-time visitors further underscores the increasing demand for food assistance in the community.

The Batesville Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from Noon to 4 p.m., except during holiday or weather-related closings.

Evening hours are also offered from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The pantry will be closed on November 26 for Thanksgiving and on December 25 for Christmas Day.

Community members and businesses interested in supporting the pantry are encouraged to make financial contributions before the end of the year.

Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at collection boxes outside the food pantry, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, or St. Louis Catholic Church at any time.

The Batesville Food Pantry operates as a ministry of the Batesville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA), a fellowship of Christian churches serving the Batesville and Oldenburg communities.

BAMA provides financial support, volunteers, and emergency assistance to residents in need.
