(Franklin County, IN) – A Fayette County man is dead and another person was injured in a crash involving a semi late Friday night in north central Franklin County.
It happened near the intersection of Causeway and Saltwell roads east of Brookville Lake around 10:30 p.m.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a car driven by 52-year-old William Pearson of Everton was eastbound on Causeway Road when it crossed the center line entering a curve.
The car collided head-on with the westbound truck driven by 26-year-old Joseph McDonald of Connersville.
Pearson died at the scene, while a passenger in his vehicle had to be extricated from the wreckage and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
That person was taken to UC Medical Center.
McDonald was not injured.
The investigation into the deadly wreck continues.
Franklin County deputies were assisted at the scene were Letts EMS, the Blooming Grove and Brookville volunteer fire departments, and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
