Stephen “Steve” Delap, 64, Milan

Stephen “Steve” Delap, 64, of Milan passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side. Steve was born on Friday, July 29, 1960, in Lawrenceburg; son of Kenneth and Deanna (Hornbach) Delap. Steve married the love of his life, Donna (Eckstein) Delap, on September 12, 1987, and she survives him. Steve worked at Hillenbrand for 46 years, ran his own trucking business, Steve Delap Trucking, for 33 years, and was a dedicated farmer for 24 years, which was one of the greatest joys of his life. He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Milan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. Most of all Steve cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Steve will be missed by his wife Donna Delap of Milan; daughter Randi (Stephen) Short of Carmel, IN; father Kenneth “Kenny” Delap of Milan; sister Stacey (Steve) Cox of Indianapolis; brothers-in-law Kevin (Debbie) Eckstein of Cincinnati, Philip (Becky) Eckstein of Sunman, Nick (Tina) Eckstein of Osgood, and Larry (Mary) Eckstein of Osgood; and grandchildren Bo, Gabbi, and Crew Short.

Family and friends may gather in remembering Steve from 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Rosary services will be held at 8:45 AM, led by Janet Freese. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM, at St. Charles Catholic Church: 213 W Ripley St, Milan, IN 47031, with Father Shaun Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Steve to St. Charles Catholic Church for Mass, Ripley County 4H, or to the family.
