The final team swimming competition for the summer was held Saturday at Greensburg High School. This is the 48th year for this conference finale.
Nearly 300 swimmers competed in the largest swim meet in the region this summer. The meet is broken into two sessions with the morning competition for all swimmers age 10 and under. The afternoon session is dedicated to swimmers age 11 through 18.
The Greensburg/Decatur County Tiger Sharks defended their home turf and won the first place championship trophy for the second time in their team history. Milan, the two-time defending champs, finished in second place in the team standings with many great performances and personal record times.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR MILAN AQUATICS
- Ross Lieland took 1st in Boys 12U 50 Free, 100 Free and IM. 2nd in 50 Fly
- Tracey Franklin swam to 1st in girls 12U 50 Free, 50 Breast and 100 Free. 2nd in the 50 Fly
- Incoming Milan freshman Kyle O’Neil captured 1st in Boys 14U 50 Free and 50 Fly. 6th in the Backstroke
- Isaiah Rowland raced to 1st in Boys 8U Back and Butterfly. 3rd in the 50 Free and 4th in 25 Free.
- Cooper Mutz 1st in Boys 10U Breast, 4th in 100 Free, 8th in 50 Free and 8th in Backstroke
- Elias Howard 1st in Boys 8U 100IM, 2nd in Breaststroke, and 8th in 50 Free
- Xander Kramer 1st in Boys 8U Breast, 4th in 25 Back, 5th in 50 Free and 6th in 25 Free

Summer team competition comes to a close for the 52 members of the Milan Aquatics team but individual swimmers can continue in the water with USA -Swimming sponsored meets, specifically the Southeast Indiana Divisional Meet which is held at Center Grove High School August 1 -3.
Individual swimmers must qualify for this meet by beating established cut times in their event at USA-Swimming sponsored meets.
