The Cincinnati Bengals and Hamilton County reached agreement yesterday on the framework for an 11-year lease for the team to remain at Paycor Stadium. The deal would run through 2036. Under terms of the deal, Hamilton County would pick up 75% of the cost to renovate Paycor Stadium, and the Bengals would cover the remaining 25%. A final lease deal will be written and is subject to final approval by the team and county commissioners.
In WNBA action last night in downtown Indianapolis, the Los Angeles Sparks beat the Indiana Fever 85-75. The Fever was without the services of guard Caitlin Clark, who was out with a groin injury. Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 20 points. Aliyah Boston recorded a double double: 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Fever drops to 7-8 on the year. The Sparks improve to 5-11. Indiana goes back on the road tonight to face Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. Tipoff is at 7:30.
The Indiana Pacers made two picks in last night’s second round of the NBA Draft. After a trade with San Antonio, Indiana had the 38th overall pick and selected Marquette guard Kam Jones. With the 54th overall pick, the Pacers drafted guard Taelon Peter from Liberty University.
