Donald Eugene “Donnie” Meyer, 82, of Aurora passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Donnie was born on Thursday, June 3, 1943, in Milan; son of Donald Edward Meyer and Ruth Janet (Johnson) Meyer. Donnie was a dedicated farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of NATPA, Switzerland County Tractor Pullers, and Son’s of Moores Hill American Legion Post #209. Donnie had a passion for working on antique John Deere tractors. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his dogs, and going to the Moores Hill Legion every Wednesday with his granddaughter, Kaylie Benham. Most of all Donnie cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Donnie will be missed by his daughters Donna Allen of Aurora and Ruthann (Kyle) Stenger of Aurora; grandchildren Kristi Grehl, Kayla Grehl, Kaylie (Jonathan) Benham, Tiffany (Jason) Niewedde, Taylor (Isabella) Grehl, Tyler Meyer, and Millie Stenger; great-grandchildren Annabelle, Carter, and Fredrick Niewedde; Former Wife and Friend Evelyn Meyer of Aurora; and special friend Bonnie Corns of Lawrenceburg.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Ruth Meyer and daughter Karlita Meyer.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Donnie from 3:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church: 9813 Mt Sinai Rd, Aurora, IN 47001. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, June 30, 2025, at Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church with Pastor Kayla Grehl officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Donnie to South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars in regard to the Karlita Meyer Scholarship Fund.
