Harry Elmer Hammond, 82, of Metamora passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at his residence. He was born on January 11, 1943 as the son of Harry and Grace (Hock) Hammond.
Harry married Juanita Claypoole on January 7, 1963 and she survives. He worked as a skilled electrician at Procter & Gamble, where he was known for his hard work and dependability. For many years, he also served faithfully as an elder at Bridgetown Church of Christ, where his leadership, guidance, and dedication to the church were deeply valued. He enjoyed woodworking and had an interest in trains. He loved spending time fishing and found the most joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his wife, Juanita; daughter, Lisa Jackson; son, Mike (Joellen) Hammond; grandchildren: Pamela (Adam) Horwitz, Meagan (Alex) Martini, Chris (Erika) Fasbinder, Matt (Grace) Fasbinder, Josh Fasbinder, Josie Hammond, and Sawyer Hammond; great grandchildren: Rowen, Colson, Addie, Mia, Stella, and Atlas; sister, Nancy; brothers: Louis and Donald.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 12:30 PM with Nathan Hardesty officiating all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati. Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
