Local Students Awarded Next Generation Educator Scholarships

(Southeastern IN) – The Indiana Commission for Higher Educator has awarded Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarships to 300 students across the state.

Local recipients are:

  • Batesville High School – Alivia McConnell and Eva Struewing.
  • East Central High School – William Kemper.
  • Franklin County High School – Austin Robinson.
  • Greensburg High School – Makenzie Ebbing, Cy Miller, and Kathryn Schwering.
  • Jac-Cen-Del Jr./Sr. High School – Hailey Kunz.
  • South Decatur Jr./Sr. High School – Morgan Reatherford.
  • South Ripley Jr./Sr. High School – Brionna Linkel.

The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship provides high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a renewable scholarship of up to $10,000 each year for four years.

In exchange, students agree to teach full-time for five years at an eligible Indiana school.
