Storms Rumble Through Area

(Southeastern IN) – Multiple severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued Wednesday evening when strong to severe storms rumbled across the area.

Yellow Bank Road between U.S. 52 and Bushy Road in Franklin County had to be closed at the low water crossing because of flooding.

There were numerous reports of downed trees and power lines throughout Southeastern Indiana.

Around 1,000 people were without electric service at the height of the storms but that number dwindled overnight, thanks to the efforts of line crews from Southeastern Indiana REMC, Duke Energy and Decatur County REMC. Just about everyone who was offline was expected to have service restored sometime this morning.

There were no injuries reported.
