It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Judith Ann “Judy” (Dell) Carley, age 79, of the Sandy Beach community. Judy’s life was beautifully centered around her faith and family. She was known for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Judy was born on April 9, 1946 in Alliance, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ann (Reindt) Dell. Judy was raised in Salem, Ohio and was a 1964 graduate of Salem High School. She received her bachelors of science and community planning degree in 1969 from University of Cincinnati. Judy was united in marriage on June 7, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio to David Ervin Carley. This happy union of 56 years was blessed with two children Carlton and Emily. Judy was employed in human resources for IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana, retiring in 2011 after five years of service. Family was the cornerstone of Judy’s life. She poured her love into every role she held – wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy came from simply being with the people she loved most. For the past several years, Judy and Dave shared their time between their homes in North Port, Florida and at Sandy Beach. She attended Awaken Church in North Port, Florida and together they made it a weekly tradition to prepare meals for their friends and neighbors, sharing not only food but love and fellowship with those around them. Judy entered eternal rest at 5:43 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Judy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David E. “Dave” Carley of the Sandy Beach community and North Port, Florida; her son, Carlton Carley and his wife, Shannon of Westfield, Indiana; her daughter, Emily Linder and her husband, Clayton of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and her 7-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ann (Reindt) Dell and her brothers, Kenneth and Daniel Dell.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
