(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Commissioner Brian Wenning gave an update this week on the search for a new county Emergency Management Agency director.
The successful candidate will replace former director Brad Speer.
Gary Hash is currently serving as interim EMA director.
Wenning said Commissioners received 16 applications. Six candidates were chosen for interviews with all but one participating.
One candidate was identified as the top choice and that person is being extended the offer.
The budgeted salary this year for the position is $53,650, but commissioners would like to offer $55,000.
Wenning will make a request to Decatur County Council for additional funding.
