Mary Linda Sides, age 83, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 20, 1941 in Madison, Indiana. She was one of eleven children born to James Ira and Edith (Montanye) Sides. She was raised in Vevay, Indiana and was a 1959 graduate of the Vevay High School. Mary was employed for the Madison State Hospital from 1962-1965 and for Randall Textron in Vevay, Indiana until 1974. In 1972 she was employed for Grote Industries in Madison, Indiana until 1974. In 1974, she was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana until 1991. Mary was a former EMT for the Switzerland County EMS from 1979-1991. Mary was also a former psychiatric attendant for Muscatatuck State Hospital near Butlerville, Indiana, from 1991-2003. Mary was a member of the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and driving around. Mary passed away at 12:35 a.m., Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Waters of Dillsboro in Dillsboro, Indiana.
Mary is survived by her son, David Sides of Vevay, IN; her sister, Sue Turner of Vevay, IN; her brother, John Sides and his wife, Judy of Versailles, IN; her brother-in-law, Ronald Lee Snyder of Vevay, IN and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ira and Edith (Montanye) Sides; her brothers, Fred and Don Sides and her sisters, Louise Arnold, Sarah Polk, Eleanor Ford, Ruthie Taylor, Faye Snyder, and Jane Stewart.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2025, in the Julia L. Dumont Building in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
