Michael L. Brown, 65, also known as “Bub or Bud” passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2025.
He was born March 2, 1960, in Greensburg to Art and Marilyn J. (Bottoms) both of whom preceded him in death.
Mike graduated from Greensburg High School in 1978.
At the age of 14, he began his work career alongside his father and continued in his footsteps for over 50 years in the auto repair business with his brothers to follow along with him. You could find him running the farm truck during farm season, changing oil, installing brakes, and fixing many tire repairs. It was evident he got his work ethic from his father and even though he slowed down in the last few years he gave everything he had to the family business.
He was a member of the Greensburg Country Club, St. Mary’s Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
Mike enjoyed his Wednesday night golf league, annual winter snowmobile trips (30 to be exact), holiday gatherings, and numerous vacations with family and special friends.
Mike is survived by his four siblings, Becky Brown of Cold Spring, Ky, Barbie and Keith of Greensburg, and Kevin (Becky) of Osgood. He is also survived by niece, Nichole Brown (Harley Faris) and nephew, Christopher (Jordyn) Brown. He was looking forward to becoming a great uncle in August to OakLynn, the future daughter of Chris and Jordyn. Numerous cousins also survive.
In addition, Mike leaves behind many dear friends that were his family. He also was given the title of “Uncle Bub/Bud” to countless number of their children through the years. Mike relished this special role and it filled his life with joy beyond measure.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. An additional hour of visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greensburg, with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Luke O’Mara Foundation and/or St. Mary’s Catholic School.
