Frederick Leland Sparks of Milan was born on March 24, 1936 to Emma (Felix) Sparks and Edwin Sparks in Milan, Indiana. He entered into eternal rest on May 31, 2025.
Fred was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro, Indiana. He loved God, his church and church family. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, watching March Madness with his grandchildren, attending horse races, and playing all types of card games. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired from Cummins in the late 1980’s and enjoyed a long-retired life. He was a member of the Milan American Legion.
He is survived by 4 children; Steve (Candy) Feller, Kathy Sutton, Sharon (Dean) Bonta, and Karen (Tom) Poole. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gene Sparks; sisters: Lucille (Sparks) BeDunnah and Eva (Sparks) Delay; brothers: Raymond Sparks, Gene Sparks, Lawrence Sparks, Clifford Sparks, and Robert Sparks; and son-in-law, Dick Sutton.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A memorial service will be held immediately following at Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro.
