(Statewide) – Ivy Tech Community College is laying off more than 200 employees statewide after the Indiana General Assembly voted to cut the college system’s funding.
Most of the layoffs began Friday.
School president Sue Ellspermann sent a letter to Ivy Tech staff saying cuts totaling 10 percent amount to $54 million in losses over the next two years.
Despite the cuts, all 19 campuses including Batesville and Lawrenceburg will stay open.
Affected employees will receive separation packages.
