(Statehouse) – Legislation sponsored by State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) to increase accessibility to teeth floating services for race horses was ceremonially signed into law this week by Gov. Mike Braun.
House Enrolled Act 1490 allows the Indiana Horse Racing Commission to issue a license for certain individuals to provide teeth floating at a licensed horse racetrack in Indiana.
“Race tracks in Indiana have had an extremely difficult time ensuring their horses receive proper dental care, sometimes requiring horse owners to travel out-of-state to do so,” Leising said. “This law will ensure horses receive the important dental care they need without having to leave the track.”
