(Osgood, IN) – History was made this week when Melissa Menchhofer was elected president of the Southeastern Indiana REMC board of directors.
Menchhofer is the first female president in the electric co-op’s history.
Mike Thieman was elected vice president; Casey Menchhofer will serve as treasurer, and the secretary is Vince Moster.
In addition, district 3 director David Smith was elected President of the Hoosier Energy Board, the first from Southeastern Indiana REMC to hold this statewide leadership position.
Members also elected district directors, all of whom were incumbents. Jessica McClure was chosen in district 4; Melissa Menchhofer got the nod in district 5, and Casey Menchhofer was picked in district 9.
The co-op says 2,596 ballots were cast out of 24,068 eligible members for district director elections, which is a 10.79 percent voter turnout
