(Friendship, IN) – Friendship volunteer firefighters were dispatched to a Hazardous Materials incident on County Road 175 East Sunday afternoon.
Upon arriving just after 3 p.m., crews discovered a connection hose between a tank and an applicator had burst and was leaking Anhydrous Ammonia, which is used for agriculture fertilizer.
The tractor operator was able to escape without inhaling any of the product or suffering any other injuries.

The tank was secured and remaining product was contained.
Firefighters say the outcome could have been much worse.
