(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Middle School golf team capped off an undefeated season when they took first place at the Batesville Invitational Monday night at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club.
BMS Team 1 brought home the championship trophy with a team score of 177, led by individual girls’ medalist Stella Maple (42) and Beckett Jones (43). Jax Negovetich and Evan Ibold each contributed a 46 to round out the team score, while Cade Rienschield added a round of 47.
Franklin County finished in second with a 193, followed by Batesville Team 2 (200), East Central Team 1 (204), East Central Team 2 (216), and Batesville Team 3 (238).
Batesville Team 2 was led by Rowan Maple, who posted a 42 – the second-lowest boys’ score of the tournament. Other contributing scores came from Nathan Mehlon (51), Deacon Fledderman (53), Jared Zins (54), and Clayton Kaiser (56).
Team 3 was paced by Hudson Sitterding with a 56 and RJ Schuerman with a 57. Additional scores included Brody Strouse (61), Luke Raver (64), Collin Vogelsang (65), and Stella Lecher (69).
