(Aurora, IN) – A Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputy is recovering following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening at the intersection of US 50 and Hilltop Drive in Aurora.
Sheriff Shane McHenry says the deputy was responding to a domestic violence call shortly after 5 p.m. with his lights and siren on.
The wreck happened in a construction zone in heavy traffic.
The unidentified deputy was taken to St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital for treatment of a lower leg injury.
The other driver was not injured.
The Aurora Police Department is investigating the crash.
Other responding agencies included the Lawrenceburg Police Department, EMS units from Aurora and Lawrenceburg, and the Aurora Fire Department.
