Jaisle Dominates in BHS Win

(Lawrenceburg, IN) – Will Jaisle was dominant on the hill, as the right-handed pitcher rang up 13 strikeouts in Batesville Varsity Bulldog’s 12-2 victory in six innings over Lawrenceburg on Monday. Jaisle surrendered one hit and two runs over six innings while walking one.

Batesville got on the board in the top of the second inning after Cayden Drake grounded into a fielder’s choice, and Mason Jones doubled to center field, each scoring one run.

The Bulldogs added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when an error scored two runs, and Carson Meyer hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Batesville scored six runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning. Dane Dudley was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Brayden Maple singled, scoring one run. Alex Krekeler singled, scoring two runs, Drake grounded out, scoring one run, and Jones grounded out, scoring one run.

Ollie Safaviyan took the loss for Lawrenceburg. The starter went three innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking two.

Batesville tallied 12 hits in the game. Dudley provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Bulldogs with three runs batted in. Rylan Yeager, Maple, Jones, Carson Schneider, Krekeler, and Ronan Post each collected two hits for Batesville. The Bulldogs didn’t commit a single error in the field. Krekeler had the most chances in the field with 13.

Dustin Shaw went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in.

Varsity is now 11-3 on the season and top of the EIAC at 7-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs next game is against Columbus East at home on Tuesday.
