BHS Varsity Baseball Gets Past Madison

(Batesville, IN) – Batesville nipped Madison 2-1 in varsity baseball on Friday in a pitchers duel that unfolded on the Bulldogs’ home diamond.

Cayden Drake drove home the Bulldogs’ two runs in the second inning.

Carson Meyer scattered four hits, had one unearned run, struck out one and did not walk a Cubs hitter.

Meyer recorded all 21 outs and earned the win.

Drake, the number seven hitter for Batesville, led the way with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-2 on the day.

Brayden Maple, Dane Dudley, Mason Jones, and Ronan Post also collected one hit a piece for the Bulldogs.

Defensively, Batesville turned one double play in the game.

BHS improves to 10-3 on the season, and will visit Lawrenceburg tonight (Monday), weather permitting.
