Guilfoyle Sentencing Delayed

Gregory Guilfoyle.

(Brookville, IN) – Sentencing for Gregory Guilfoyle has been delayed.

He was found guilty but mentally ill on eight counts last month in the December 2022 shooting and wounding of his wife and a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy.

Guilfoyle was facing two counts of Attempted Murder and six other charges.

It was three days before Christmas when Guilfoyle shot his wife Hannah in the head and then left his home near Cedar Grove on foot in a snowstorm, carrying his young daughter. Hannah Guilfoyle survived the shooting.

When Deputy Arin Bowers confronted him, Guilfoyle shot him and struck Bowers in his protective vest.

The deputy returned fire and Guilfoyle was paralyzed when he was shot during the exchange of gunfire.

Sentencing was supposed to take place on Friday but was put on hold when it was learned that Guilfoyle was receiving medical treatment.
