Tonight the Batesville High School JV team got to compete at the East Central Invitational. The wind died down just as the meet was to start and the storms stayed away, making for a pleasant night for a track meet. Batesville brought home 3 first places and a runner up for the night and had over 20 personal best performances. As a team, both the boys and the girls placed 3rd. On the boys side it was Seton with a strong showing finishing with 219 points to East Central’s 151. Batesville had 108 points and Franklin County with 50. For the girls East Central came in first with 211 points, beating Elder with 181 and Batesville had 98 with Franklin County at 37 points.Congratulations to Jade Martin placing 1st in the 100m hurdles (18.91), Max Walters placing 1st in the 400m dash (56.44) and Nick Tirado winning high jump (5-2). Runner up honors went to Levi Essick in the 1600m run.
