House GOP Internships Open This Fall

(Statehouse) – Indiana House Republicans offer paid internships before the start of the legislative session each year.

Applications for the 2026 session will open in the fall.

State Rep. Alex Zimmerman (R-North Vernon), whose district includes parts of Ripley and Decatur counties, touted the program on a recent House Republicans podcast.

“My time as an intern truly laid the foundation for me, and fueled my interest in government and law. I would not be serving as a state representative today had I not served as an intern with the legislature,” Zimmerman said. “It’s a great way to get your foot in the door, and interact with Indiana’s lawmakers. Anyone interested in government should apply for this hands-on, immersive experience.”

The program is open to current college students, law school students, grad students or recent college graduates.
