Dixie Heights got past Batesville 3-2 in varsity baseball on Saturday in Northern Kentucky.
The Batesville JVs swept a doubleheader with Jennings County. It was the Bulldogs over the Panthers 2-1 in the opener; Batesville took the nightcap 3-0.
Batesville boys golf placed third in the 20-team Whiteland Invitational on Saturday. The Bulldogs shot a 317 as a team. Greensburg finished 11th while North Decatur came in 16th.
Batesville Middle School’s A Team captured the EIAC meet at Hillcrest on Friday with a score of 159. Stella Maple fired a 35 to lead the Bulldogs. BMS also won Saturday’s St. Mary’s Invite at North Branch with a team score of 182. Maple earned medalist honors by shooting a 41.

The Reds beat the Rockies 8-1 in a game heard yesterday on WRBI to complete the three-game series sweep in Colorado. Nick Lodolo tossed 7 scoreless innings, gave up just 2 hits, struck out 9 and walked 1 to earn the win. Noelvi Marte went 3 for 5 and drove in 3, while Elly De La Cruz and Gavin Lux each extended their hitting streaks to 11 games. The Reds return home to begin a four-game National League Central Division series tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals. Nick Martinez starts for Cincinnati. The Pacers hammered the Bucks 129-103 in Milwaukee in Game Four of their NBA playoff series heard last night on the Sports Voice. Myles Turner led Indiana with 23 points. The Pacers lead the series three games to one and can close it out with a win in Game Five tomorrow night in downtown Indianapolis.
