Mrs. Marsha Kay (Holcomb) Wilks

Mrs. Marsha Kay (Holcomb) Wilks, age 76, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on November 5, 1948 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. She was the loving daughter of the late Marshall Addison and Jo Evelyn (Hawkins) Holcomb. She was raised in Sulphur, Louisiana, where she was a 1966 graduate of Sulphur High School. She later attended Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas, where she deepened her love for God and ministry. On January 2, 1969, Marsha married the love of her life, Rev. Charles Raymond Wilks in Sulphur, Louisiana. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Anthony and Stephanie. Together, Marsha and Charles served faithfully in ministry for many years until his passing on August 3, 2024. Marsha was a devoted homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She especially enjoyed shopping, reading her Bible, attending church, and spending time in prayer. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. The Wilks family moved to the Switzerland County community in 1989. She was a faithful member of The River Apostolic Church in Vevay, Indiana, where she served as church secretary for several years, participated on the worship team, and taught Sunday school – roles she embraced with love and dedication during her husband’s pastorate. Marsha will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family and church community. Marsha went to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:37 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Marsha is survived by her son, Anthony Wilks and his wife, Lisa of Vevay, IN; her daughter, Stephanie Droz and her husband, Jason of Savannah, GA; Nana’s grandchildren, Lauren Ford, Landon (Tristan) Wilks, Cameron Droz, Drew Wilks, and Carter Wilks; Nana’s great-grandchildren, Jayden Singleton, Shay Singleton, Julien Elam, and Stella Wilks; her sister, Vickie Johnson and her husband Alan of Kingwood, TX; her brother, Mark Holcomb and his wife, Leslie of Cleveland, TN and her several nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marshall Addison Holcomb, died February 5, 2010; her mother, Jo Evelyn (Hawkins) Holcomb, died February 3, 2005; her husband, Rev. Charles Raymond Wilks, died August 3, 2024, and her brothers, Billy Joe Holcomb, died June 1, 2017, and Larry W. Holcomb, died July 29, 2024

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at The River Apostolic Church, 6160 State Road 156, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at The River Apostolic Church, 6160 State Road 156, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
