Teen Suffers Minor Injuries in Ripley Co. Semi vs. Pickup Collision

(Ripley County, IN) – A Dillsboro teen was injured in a two-vehicle accident involving a semi and a pickup truck at the intersection of US 50 and County Road 750 East in Ripley County Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff Rob Bradley says it was around 3:25 p.m. when a pickup driven by 19-year-old Collin O’Brien was northbound on 750 East and crossing through the intersection when his vehicle was struck by a semi heading west on 50.

The pickup was thrown across the grass median and into the east bound lanes.

O’Brien suffered minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

The semi driver, 48-year-old David Jones, Jr. of Missouri, was not injured.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to look both ways and yield to oncoming traffic, especially when crossing four-lane highways.

Deputies received assistance from Ripley County Communications, Ripley County Court Services, Indiana State Police, the Milan Community Schools Resource Officer, Milan Volunteer Fire Department, Ripley County EMS, the Ripley County Emergency Management Agency, and Affordable Todd’s Wrecker Service.
