(Franklin County, IN) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Bradley Lecher has made history by successfully earning certification in Accident Reconstruction

Lecher is the first deputy in the agency’s history to achieve this specialized certification.

The sheriff’s office writes in a social media post that Lecher, “…has continually demonstrated a commitment to excellence and professional development. A graduate of both the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and the IMPD Leadership Academy, Deputy Lecher’s new certification in Accident Reconstruction further enhances the department’s capabilities.”

Officials say this advanced certification will allow the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to independently conduct thorough traffic crash investigations, which in the past required assistance from Indiana State Police.

The agency says this new expertise will allow them to provide enhanced services to the community and ensure more efficient and detailed crash analysis.

“Deputy Lecher’s dedication to professional growth is an asset to our department and to the citizens of Franklin County. His certification in Accident Reconstruction will significantly enhance our ability to investigate and resolve traffic-related incidents,” said Sheriff Peter Cates.
