Kathleen N. “Kay” Robben

Kathleen N. “Kay” Robben, age 83 of Batesville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at her home.  Born February 4, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she is the daughter of Anthony and Clara (Nee: Dewald) Helmes.  She married Harry Robben on May 27, 1967, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Cincinnati and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2016.  Kay was a Caregiver in Home Healthcare, before retiring.

Family and faith were very important to Kay, and she could often be found watching and cheering on her children and grand kids at all of their sporting events.  She was a member of St. Mary of the Rock Catholic Church, where she served as a CCD teacher for over 30 years, was a Eucharistic Minister, frequently visiting with the shut-in parishioners, and was a volunteer at the Batesville Food Pantry.

She is survived by her sons Harry (Tammey) Robben of St. Peter’s, Indiana, Hugh (Renae) Robben of St. Mary’s, Hans (Erin) Robben of Cincinnati, and Herbert (Irene) Robben of Batesville; grandchildren Brady, Ben, Amelia (Abrem), Isabella, Medeleine, Samuel, Henry, Katherine, Claire, August, and Emma; great grandson Tate; brother Bob (Judy) Helmes of Cincinnati; sister-in-law Janet Helmes of Cincinnati, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Bill, Tony, and Ted Helmes.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 23rd, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24th, at St. Mary of the Rock Church, with Fr. John Barker O.F.M. officiating.  The burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary of the Rock Church Preservation Fund or to the Margaret Mary Health Hospice.  For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
