(Brookville, IN) – The community is invited to the Carson Hughes Gallery open house from 5-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at Reid Health Primary & Specialty Care – Brookville, located at 11051 State Road 101, Brookville. Light refreshments will be provided.

Photography by Ripley County native Carson Hughes will be on display, and guests are encouraged to tour the building to experience the permanent photography collection.

Hughes was an immensely talented photographer whose work primarily focused on nature and wildlife scenes. Carson tragically took his last photo on March 15, 2024, at Versailles State Park, doing what he loved most.

Hughes had a deep appreciation for nature, referring to the experiences he had as encounters. The Carson Hughes Foundation continues sharing his photography to help others experience the beauty of nature, wildlife, and the world.

Reid Health is also hosting the “Carson Hughes Photography Exhibit” in the MacDowell Gallery, at its main campus in Richmond, through the end of April. The exhibit opened in February and features scenes from Southeastern Indiana and U.S. National Parks.

To honor his memory and journey as a photographer, Carson’s family established the Carson Hughes Foundation. Through his legacy, Jason and Mandy Hughes hope to inspire others to pursue their passions and live with kindness and consideration.

The Hughes family is dedicated to sharing the images Carson worked so hard to capture. They’ve carried on his photography aspirations by launching his website, CarsonHughesPhotography.com, with proceeds benefiting the Carson Hughes Foundation.

The foundation provides recreational enjoyment at state and national parks, wildlife conservation, photography camps for youth, and scholarships to local seniors with plans to expand initiatives in the future.

His family has been gracious in allowing Reid Health to honor Carson with this permanent installation at Reid Health Primary & Specialty Care – Brookville. Jason Hughes helped select the works featured.
