Virginia R. Hunt, age 101, of Brookville, Indiana and formerly of Connersville, died Saturday, April 12, 2025 at her home in Brookville.
Born April 4, 1924 in Franklin County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late John C. & Katherine (Senefeld) Lohrey. She was united in marriage to James E. Hunt, and he preceded her in death on January 29, 1985.
Virginia retired from McQuay Norris in Connersville, Indiana in 1977 where she had worked for over 34 years.
She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, and had formerly been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springersville.
In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking, canning, fishing, and playing cards.
Survivors include nieces, Doris Hertel Tague, Karen Brackney Niedenthal, Bonnie Lohrey Chaney, Donna Lohrey Drenchen, Lou Ann Hertel; as well as many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Freda K. Kremp, Pauline E. Hertel Evans, Marie A. Kremp, Mabel M. Brackney, Florence Underwood; two brothers, Alfred Lohrey and Woodrow M. Lohrey.
Friends & family may visit from 4 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Robert Browning will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 823 Franklin Avenue, Brookville with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, where Jeff Westerfeld, Doug Hertel, Barry Hertel, Kris Chaney, Andrew Patton, and Jonathan Adams will serve as pallbearers.
