Panks Receive Stephen Decatur Award

(Greensburg, IN) – The Decatur County Community Foundation (DDCF) recently announced Paul and RoJeanna Pank as the recipients of the 2025 Stephen Decatur Award.

The Stephen Decatur award recognizes volunteers who go above and beyond to make a difference in Decatur County. A recipient is not necessarily named every year, making the award that much more prestigious.

The Panks have a long and impressive resume’ of local involvement. Organizations the couple has been involved with include New Directions, Decatur County YMCA, Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, WIC, Decatur County Community Foundation, Arc of Decatur County, St. Mary’s Church, Knights of Columbus, Greensburg Kiwanis, Decatur County Historical Society, Tree County Players, Decatur County Memorial Hospital and more.

“Paul and RoJeanna are the perfect example of what the Stephen Decatur award represents,” said DCCF Executive Director, Tami Wenning. “The love and generosity they have shown this community is legendary, and we can never thank them enough for their impact.”

The Panks are the 22 nd recipients of the Stephen Decatur Award. Past award winners include Herb Scheidler, William O. Smith, The Robbins Family, Burney and Lucy Lehman, Jim and Jere’ Sturges, Linda Volk, Bill and Marjorie Hunter, Dale and Sharon Crites, Mary Demaree, Mike Gasper, John Corya, Sheila Doerflinger, Bob Scheidler, Joe and Susan Rust, David Miers, Rick and Mary Johnson, Bob Cupp, David J. Fry, Susan and the late Dennis Wilson, Doug and the late JoAnn Fry, and Merrill and Linda Smith.
