(Decatur County, IN) – The installation of field turf on four of the eight ball diamonds at the Decatur County Youth Sports Complex was celebrated during a Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Friday afternoon.

The project is part of a $1.9 million investment in the area.

This summer, the complex is set to host 18 United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) tournaments, with an average of 40 teams per tournament, which will provided an economic shot in the arm to the area.

Thousands of visitors – including players, coaches and families – will spend their weekends in Greensburg and Decatur County, booking hotel rooms, eating at local restaurants, shopping, and fueling up at area gas stations.

In fact, the first tournament on the new turf was held just a few hours after Friday’s ribbon cutting.

The remaining four ball diamonds at the complex will be converted to field turf in time for the 2026 season.
