Polly Sue Lovegrove, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on November 29, 1949, in Greensburg, Indiana, to Lowel Emerson and Addie (Parker) Martin. A proud graduate of North Decatur High School, Polly touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and love.
Polly found joy in the simple things in life. She loved reading, listening to country music on the radio, and playing cards with family and friends. She cherished sitting around the table and sharing stories, and her love for dancing, whether at home or on a night out, brought light and laughter to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Robert Martin Sr., her beloved sisters: “Ruth” Louise Bryant, Betty Jane Miller, “Anna” Marlene Hargrave, Cheryl Martin, and Patricia A. Keihn, and brother, Lowel “Bubby” Wilson. Polly was also preceded by her dear friends and family who had passed before her, but her spirit remains vibrant in the hearts of those she left behind.
Polly is survived by the love of her life, Ralph Lozier, and her children: Brian Cass, John Cass, David Cass, Helen Kleinhenz, Angela Spears, and Theresa Miller. She will be forever missed by her 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Polly is also survived by her sisters: Linda Darlene, Carol Shafer, “Gwendlyn” Joyce Rodriguez, Celie Jennet Kein, and “Sharon” Elaine Wilson, as well as her brother, Robert Martin Jr. “Rocky Martin,” and many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory with love and affection.
In accordance with Polly’s wishes, no services will be held. Polly’s family will miss her deeply, but they take comfort in the beautiful memories and love she shared with them. A woman who loved fiercely and lived with an open heart, Polly Sue Lovegrove’s legacy will live on through her family, her laughter, and the love she gave to those around her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
