Kenneth B. Enneking

Kenneth Bernard Enneking, age 78 of Oldenburg, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville, Indiana.  Born August 22, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he is the son of Robert and Loretta (Nee: Schwegman) Enneking.  He married Joan Doll on September 4, 1971, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville.

Kenny was a Casket Repair Laborer for the Batesville Casket Company (Doll Plant) for over 40 years, before retiring.  He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg, Knights of St. John in Oldenburg, Knights of Columbus Council #1461 of Batesville, and a member of the V.F.W. Sons of Veterans in Brookville.

Through the years, Kenny’s life transitioned from coaching his sons’ baseball teams to watching his grandkids’ sporting events…from taking hunting trips in French Lick with friends to taking fishing trips in Wisconsin with the guys. Holy Family held a special place in Kenny’s heart… from working the pancake breakfasts to spending a half a century enjoying the company of friends in the Holy Family Bowling League. Kenny enjoyed hunting for mushrooms and deer alike, especially when in the company of his grandsons. When not vacationing with family, you could find him recliner coaching the Reds and Bengals in their proper seasons with a beer in his hand. Out of season, he enjoyed reading history and western novels with his dog Keeno by his side. Kenny will be greatly missed by his friends and family who will cherish his memories for lifetimes to come.

He is survived by his wife Joan of Oldenburg; sons and daughters-in-law Brian and Jennifer Enneking of Batesville, Bill and Katie Enneking of Guilford, Indiana, and Mark and Lacy Enneking of Batesville; grandchildren Alyssa, Ben, Drew, Kenya, Taya, Kylie, Isaac, and Brock; brother and sister-in-law Richard “Dick” and Becky Enneking of Beavercreek, Ohio.  In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Enneking.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 8th, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, with Fr. John Barker OFM officiating.  The burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Oldenburg Knights of St. John or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
