Storms Leave Behind Flooding, Downed Trees, Power Lines

(Southeastern IN) – Tornado watches and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued overnight, as strong to severe storms accompanied by high winds rumbled through the area.

Those alerts were eventually either canceled or expired.

Several roads in Franklin County were closed due to flooding. That forced the Franklin County Community School Corporation to close with E-Learning on Thursday.

Thousands around Southeastern Indiana were left in the dark when downed trees and power lines caused widespread power outages.

Meanwhile, a flood watch remains in effect through Sunday morning. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be a possibility during the period.
